Who should use the AP TET Paper 1A syllabus?
Paper 1A is the regular AP TET route for Classes I-V. Candidates prepare all five compulsory sections rather than choosing a subject option.
Paper 1A vs Paper 1B
Both papers retain Language I, English, Mathematics and Environmental Studies. Paper 1B replaces the regular CDP/ICT section with Child Development and Pedagogy specifically framed for Special Education.

Child Development and Pedagogy with ICT - 30 marks
The section covers childhood, family and school socialisation, methods of child study, growth, maturation and physical, social, emotional, language and moral development.
- Cognition, intelligence, individual differences, Piaget, Vygotsky and other learning perspectives.
- Personality, mental health, learning theories, transfer of learning and children with special needs.
- Child-centred, collaborative and cooperative learning, classroom management, assessment and evaluation.
- Education policy and Acts, including NEP 2020 and NCFSE 2023, plus ICT fundamentals, resources and integration.
Language I - 30 marks
Candidates prepare the applicable Language I: Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil or Odia. Each language combines content and teaching methodology; use the matching language section in the official PDF.
Language II - English - 30 marks
- Vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, homophones, homonyms, idioms, phrasal verbs, spelling and word formation.
- Grammar, tenses, voice, reported speech, sentence types, clauses and writing conventions.
- Discourses, dictionary skills, prose and poetry comprehension, LSRW methodology, lesson planning and evaluation.
Mathematics - 30 marks
Mathematics contains 24 marks of content and 6 marks of methodology.
- Numbers, Arithmetic, Geometry, Data Handling, Algebra and Mensuration.
- Nature and objectives of Mathematics teaching, methods, remedial measures, resources, planning and assessment.
Environmental Studies - 30 marks
- Science: living world, nutrition, life processes, materials, motion, light, electricity, heat, force, sound, transport, professions and environment.
- Social Studies: Earth, maps, resources, livelihoods, population, agriculture, governance, the Constitution, history and society.
