All Previous Year Papers

Browse the available TNPSC Group 4 past-paper scans by General Tamil, General Studies and General English. The collections describe the actual files: some are complete mixed-subject booklets, while others are subject extracts. A scanned booklet with marked choices is not automatically an authenticated TNPSC answer key.

TNPSC Group 4 previous year question papers

Choose General Tamil, General Studies or General English to find TNPSC Group 4 previous year question papers. Each collection lists the available PDFs by year. Read the file notes before you begin: a download may contain a mixed-subject booklet or an extract from one section.

Which years are available?

Paper collectionAvailable years
General Tamil2025, 2024, 2022, 2019, 2018, 2016, 2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011
General Studies2025, 2024, 2022, 2019, 2018, 2016, 2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011
General English2025, 2024, 2019, 2018, 2016 and 2012

These are selected years in the current collections, not ten consecutive years. The latest listed paper year is 2025. The 2012 entry in the General English collection is labelled as a General Studies extract, so it should not be treated as a complete English-language section

Check the PDF before starting a timer

Before attempting a downloaded paper:

  • Confirm the year and booklet identity. Check the actual file rather than relying only on its download label.
  • Locate the subject and question range. Identify which questions belong to the section you intend to practise.
  • Check the scan quality. Make sure the necessary pages, diagrams and answer options are readable.
  • Record whether it is a full booklet or an extract. Use a practice time limit appropriate to the questions included.

Some scans retain a full-booklet cover while containing only selected pages. If you practise an extract, record its question range and use that range when reviewing your result.

Separate 2022 answer table

Download the TNPSC Group 4 2022 Version A answer table - PDF

This is a separate answer table, not another question paper. Its official and final-key status has not been independently confirmed. Check its booklet identity and question sequence before using it as a reference.

How to practise

Turn each paper into a useful revision session

  1. Choose the scope of the attempt. Decide whether you are practising a subject section or a complete paper.
  2. Attempt the questions before checking answers. Record the time used and mark questions where you guessed.
  3. Review why each mistake happened. Separate gaps in knowledge from misreading, calculation errors and time pressure.
  4. Return to the relevant syllabus topic. Review the concept behind the question instead of memorising an answer letter.
  5. Retry difficult questions later. Check whether you can explain the answer without looking at the reference.

Record the paper year, booklet, question range, time used and topics to revisit. This gives you a clearer basis for planning your next session than collecting PDFs without reviewing your attempts.

An example time budget for a full practice attempt

For a complete 200-question practice attempt following the current structure, the following is an editorial starting point. It is not a TNPSC-prescribed sectional time allocation; adjust it to your pace.

Practice activitySuggested time
Part A85 minutes
General Studies70 minutes
Aptitude and Mental Ability20 minutes
Review OMR entries5 minutes
Total180 minutes

Sources and update

Paper availability is limited to the files verified in this collection; gaps do not establish that TNPSC held no exam in a year. PDF labels here identify question-paper scans. An answer key is labelled separately only when its status and booklet identity can be checked.

Clause 6.2 permits eligible candidates with disabilities who studied English subject only at Board/University level to choose General English instead of Tamil, subject to the application and disability-certificate requirements. The 60-mark Part A minimum also applies. This is not a general language option for every applicant.

Syllabus Breakdown

Connect past-paper practice with the current syllabus

Use the current syllabus to decide which older questions remain relevant to your preparation. After an attempt, match each mistake to a syllabus topic and revisit the underlying concept. Keep General Studies and aptitude errors separate so that one strong section does not hide a weaker one.

Use the TNPSC Group 4 syllabus guide for topic navigation and the Group 4 preparation guide for a study plan. For current examination and language rules, follow Notification 11/2026 and any later official changes.
